Hamilton Digester Project |

Wessuc was awarded over two other companies a contract in April 2001 to
clean out four digesters at the Hamilton Woodward Ave. Wastewater Treatment
Plant.
The work was contracted out from the City of Hamilton and involves
the removal of the material in the digesters, screening
of the material, the haulage, and the spreading of the biosolids on licensed
field sites.
As of December 7, 2001, Wessuc had completed the cleaning of the four digesters.
The biosolids were spread in the Binbrook area on licensed sites from
the Ministry of the Environment (MOE). Each site was inspected prior to
licensing and during operation to ensure all requirements were being met.
Wessuc spread on roughly 500 acres in the Binbrook area. Wessuc worked
closely with the City of Hamilton and the Ministry of the Environment
to ensure all aspects of the program a were being done responsibly.
The cleaning of these digesters was one part of a plant improvement process
which will increase the capacity of the plant and improve the plant efficiency. |
